LadderBrakePro and First Due Innovations LLC do not provide ladder safety training however many resources exist including the American Ladder Institute (https://www.americanladderinstitute.org/) and OSHA (https://www.osha.gov/publications/bytopic/ladder-safety)
Should the ladder be climbed with only the LadderBrakePro engaged?
No. LadderBrakePro is only an emergency stopping mechanism, it does not permanently secure the ladder in any way. Always follow good ladder safety practices as defined by your organization, the ladder manufacturer and others.
Does this change how I set or use my ladder?
No LadderBrakePro is an emergency stopping mechanism for extension ladders. Best practices for ladder safety can be found in various places and your organization may have defined requirements for safe ladder use.
Is LadderBrakePro a life safety device?
No, LadderBrakePro is not intended, classified or rated for life safety applications and should not be used as such.
Can LadderBrakePro be used for other lifting applications?

Does LadderBrakePro mitigate all risks associated with ladder use?
Many risks still exist when using ladders or any work above ground and all safety requirements of your company, dept, the ladder manufacturer and others still must be followed.
Is there a maintenance plan for LadderBrakePro?
Yes, LadderBrakePro should be inspected weekly or more frequently if required by your organization. Inspection requirements: ensure all 6x 6-32 bolts are tight, ensure 4x 1/4-20 bolts are engaged in the lock nuts, ensure there is not excess wear or damage to the halyard.
How can I test LadderBrakePro on my ladder?
If permitted by your organization raise the fly, ensure the ladder bed is secured, keep hands out of the area of travel of the fly. release the halyard and confirm the fly section does not fall. See the demonstration video on our website. Log the results in a safety log or send the results to info@FirstDueInnovations.com with the device SN in the subject line and pass/fail in the body. If there are any issues with the function please red tag the device and ladder and contact info@FirstDueInnovations.com with the nature of the problem and the serial number of the device.
